What it does
A passive line-level input selector and precision volume control placed between compatible sources and an amplifier or powered speakers. It adds no voltage gain and requires careful source/output impedance and cable-length compatibility.

What it does not do

Source and load compatibility
The standard design uses four stereo RCA inputs, one stereo output and a stepped attenuator. It selects sources and lowers level without adding voltage gain. Source output impedance, downstream input impedance and cable length must be checked together.
Product information
Ask for the attenuation steps, channel tracking, insertion loss and compatibility information for the selected revision. A passive controller does not automatically suit every source and amplifier pairing.
