What it does
The Reference Stereo Line Isolator inserts a matched transformer pair between compatible line-level components to interrupt a conductive audio-ground path. The response, distortion, level handling and channel match of the fitted transformer pair are documented at stated source and load impedances. It may help a ground loop; it cannot cure every hum cause and can change sound if paired with unsuitable equipment.
Required but not included
- line-level source and line-level destination plus cables. Never connect speaker outputs, phono cartridges, mains, or an unidentified energized line. It does not replace electrical safety grounding.
Included
- Stereo transformer isolator with fitted-pair measurement record for stated source and load conditions.
What it does not do
- Line-level use only. Never connect speaker outputs, phono cartridges, mains or unidentified energized lines. It cannot cure every hum cause or replace safety grounding.
Specifications
Specifications apply to the selected configuration. Estimated values are identified below.
| Opening price | $999 base |
|---|---|
| Production estimate | Made to order; estimated 8 weeks, confirmed with the accepted order. |
| Configuration | Base RCA line-level configuration. Balanced connector work requires a separate quote; no safety-earth lift is offered. |
| Specification target | stereo passive 1:1 transformer path; RCA input/output base edition; balanced connector work by custom quote; shielded grounded metal case in hardwood presentation; no supply; about 8 W × 6 D × 3 H in. Transformer ratio, insertion loss, bandwidth, headroom and impedance bounds are included in the unit's measured build record. |
| Black finishes | Satin black or polished piano black; piano black adds approximately three weeks. We make every effort to ship earlier. |
| Optional handles | Pair of hand-machined, polished solid brass handles, nominal 6-inch grips. |
