What it does
Convert a compatible 15 kHz analog RGBS source to NTSC composite and S-Video. This encoder is for supported source levels, sync and wiring; it does not scale or convert HDMI.
Required but not included
- Compatible 15 kHz analog RGB plus composite-sync source
- Correctly wired source-specific RGBS cable
- Regulated 5 V supply meeting the specified current, polarity and connector requirements; sold separately from the base configuration
- Composite or S-Video output cable
- Destination accepting the supported NTSC signal
Included
- Assembled encoder in an enclosure
- Mating pluggable input connector
- Pinout/compatibility guide and test record
What it does not do
- Power adapter is not included.
- Not a scaler, scan converter, frame-rate converter, HDMI adapter or arbitrary RGB transcoder.
- Not a universal solution for logic-level RGB or component video.
- Signal amplitude, sync level/polarity, input pinout and verified source list remain to be finalized.
- An incompatible or miswired source can produce no image and may damage equipment.

What it does
The encoder converts compatible standard-definition analog red, green, blue and composite-sync signals into simultaneous NTSC S-Video and composite video. It is intended for equipment that already provides a supported 15 kHz RGBS signal and needs analog video encoding.
Construction
The current design uses an AD724 encoder on an adapter module with a through-hole main board. Check the released product revision for its actual construction and connections.
Check source compatibility
Confirm source signal amplitude, sync level and polarity, cable pinout and destination NTSC support before connection. Connector shape alone does not establish compatibility.
Encoding is not scaling
The encoder changes supported analog RGBS into NTSC composite and S-Video. It is not intended to convert arbitrary scan rates, frame rates, digital HDMI or logic-level RGB. Use a separate appropriate converter where those changes are needed.
Supply and cables
The base configuration excludes a power adapter and source-specific cables. Use only a supply that meets the released voltage, current, polarity and connector requirements.
Product details
Signal limits, pinout and supported source information will be stated for the released revision. Ask a compatibility question before connecting an uncertain source.
Shipping
Shipping options and charges are shown before payment. Carrier transit starts after production. The accepted shipping charge is fixed for an unchanged address, configuration and service.
Made-to-order price and scope
Base price $199. Estimated production 6 weeks. Exact configuration, included items, exclusions and ship date are agreed before payment.
