Start with what leaves the source
RGBS carries analog red, green and blue with composite sync. Composite video combines picture information into one video signal. S-Video separates luminance and chrominance. These are signal formats, not interchangeable names for cable shapes.
Switching and encoding solve different problems
The Rasterdeck switcher selects among inputs while preserving composite and S-Video formats. The RGBS encoder converts a supported 15 kHz analog RGBS source into NTSC composite and S-Video. Neither product is a scaler or HDMI converter.
Check the destination too
A destination must accept the output format and timing. An HDMI-only display needs a separate suitable converter. For the RGBS encoder, check the released amplitude, sync level and polarity, and cable pinout.
Before buying
Record your equipment model/revision, source signal, destination input and cable wiring. Compare those details to the released product documentation or ask a compatibility question. A design description is not proof that a specific console has been tested.
