What it does
A passive step-up transformer for using a compatible low-output moving-coil phono cartridge with a moving-magnet phono input. It is not a phono preamplifier, does not provide RIAA equalization, and is unnecessary for most moving-magnet cartridges.

What it does not do
- Not a phono preamplifier and no RIAA equalization.
- Not universal cartridge compatibility; ratio, cartridge impedance, input load and cable capacitance must be checked.
- Usually unnecessary for moving-magnet cartridges. Hardwood presentation alone is not magnetic shielding.
